GhazzyTV's Animate Weapon Chieftain Gear, Jewels & Flasks (PoE Settlers of Kalguur)
Summary – TL;DR
Cap your Elemental Resistances and get the attributes your gems require to make sure you can use them all. There are a few unique item options however, the remaining pieces should be Rare with Life and of course any lacking attributes/resistances.
My quick list recommended approach for this build would then be:
Gearing
Item Slot | Item Name | Rarity |
---|---|---|
Head | Life then Res/Attributes as needed, also include +1-2 lvl of all minion skills +extra Skeleton/Zombie | Rare |
Amulet | The Jinxed Juju | Unique |
Chest | Glorious Plate with Life and resists | Rare |
Gloves | Triad Grip | Unique |
Boots | Titan Greaves with Movement speed, life, res | Rare |
Belt | Darkness Enthroned | Unique |
Ring | 1X Unset Ring | Rare |
Ring | 2X Bone Ring This has to carry elemental resistances for the minions | Rare |
Weapon | Rebuke of the Vaal | Unique |
Shield | Rise of the Phoenix | Unique |
Armour Pieces
A lot of the higher budget examples can either be purchased or crafted, and when crafted I would strongly suggest utilizing Craft of Exile to determine the cheapest approach to crafting the desired items.
Helmet
We’re going to prefer a high armour base, such as Eternal Burgonet or better. In lower budgets our stat prio is simple, prioritise affixes as follows:
1: +2 to level of all minion skill gems
2: Maximum life
3: Resistances of any kind
Body Armour
High armour base, preferably Glorious Plate or better. Same thing as the helmet, basic stat prio goes:
1: Armour
2: Maximum life
3: Resistances
Gloves
- Triad Grip is our one and only option here. 4 red sockets.
Boots
High armour base, preferably Titan Greaves or better.
Stat prio here is also simple, prio as follows:
1: Movement speed
2: Maximum life
3: Resistances
This slot is excellent at loading up resistances, so try to prioritise them here to make stat budgets on rings easier.
Shield
For lower budgets our most efficient option here is without question Rise of the Phoenix.
+5% maximum all resistance.
30% ish fire resistance, 15% cold/15% lightning.
Decent regen
Allround great item for a low price
Belt
We’ll be using the unique: Darkness Enthroned as it scales the modifiers on socketed abyssal jewels inside of it by 50-100%!
Jewel Modifier Priority List:
1. Life
2. Increased x% minion damage, when you’ve used a minion skill recently
3. Minion Accuracy to make sure your minions have 100% chance to hit (two jewels with 220 will do)
4. Added flat physical (or fire) damage to your minions
5. Minion attack speed
6. Attributes and/or resistances if needed
Accessories
Amulet
- The Jinxed Juju is the go-to selection for this slot. Alternatively a rare with life/attributes/res can be used, but Juju is preferable.
Rings
Bone Ring
This item HAS to carry a “minions have increased elemental resistances” roll. This is extremely important and non-negotiable.
Other than that, it should carry attributes, life and a resistance.
Unset Ring
Attributes, Life, Resistances. How much of each depends a bit on what you’re solving elsewhere. Rings are flexible, but try to budget more attributes here and more resistance on boots. It makes life easier.
Weapon
- Rebuke of the Vaal Is our go-to recommendation for mainhand here. This is a bit untraditional for a minion build, as most would use a Wand.
Due to Rallying Cry we grant our minions a massive portion of our main hand’s damage as base damage. The higher the main hand’s damage is, the higher the benefit. Rebuke is one of the highest flat damage weapons in the game. Get as good rolls as you can afford, but don’t spend a fortune on it.
Flasks
Flask set-ups are almost always a matter of personal taste when it comes to what utility flasks to use. However, I will list the set-up I’ve been using for a smooth play experience. To find the available list of modifiers the flasks can have, check out these links: Utility Flasks, Life Flasks, Mana Flasks & lastly: Hybrid Flasks
The PoB is showcasing another flask set-up that works fine as well, again, this is mostly a matter of personal preference when it comes to the utility flasks.
Slot | Flask | Description |
1 | “Seething” Divine Life Flask of | Instant life flask that also removes bleed effects from you |
2 | “ Rumi's Concoction | This flask gives us base armour and block. |
3 | “Transgressor”, “Masochist’s” or “Flaggelant’s” Basalt Flask of “Abalone”, “Tortoise”, “Pangolin” or “Armadillo” | The prefix modifier helps sustain the flask charges during map clearing & the flask provides increased physical damage mitigation whilst the suffix increase your armor significantly |
4 | “Transgressor”, “Masochist’s” or “Flaggelant’s” Amethyst Flask | Shores of Chaos resistance, the suffix can be whichever you feel like |
5 | “Seething” Divine Life Flask of | Instant life flask that also removes bleed effects from you |

Cluster Jewel
We want a medium cluster jewel as early as possible, specifically a warcry cluster. Lead by Example is super important, as it grants us and the minions onslaught. This helps them do damage, get around, it helps us get around and it helps with our summoning speed for AW’s. Do not sleep on this, it’s amazing.
The second notable is more up in the air, but I prefer Haunting Shout for Intimidate, to help the AW’s do more damage.
Jewels
Every jewel slot we have except for the medium, is taken up by Ghastly Eye jewels. We went over their stat prio earlier, but it bears repeating
Ideally one of them should have the affix “Minions have #% chance to Taunt on Hit with Attacks”
